I am sure it will get easier down the line but early on I find it incredibly frustrating. As a result I would like to mod the game to reduce the insane boost to stats enemies get in tactician mode.

However it is possible to get one shot, killed by conversation choice or permanently polymorphed. So I wouldn't recommend it for a first timer.
